Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of FreeMyNeighborhood.com as a homeowner, vendor or visitor. By using the site, you agree to them.
Who we are
FreeMyNeighborhood.com is operated by [placeholder] Business legal name, [placeholder] Mailing address.
What we do
We organize homeowners by neighborhood, introduce them to home-service vendors who pay for a meeting, and negotiate group rates. We are not a contractor, real estate broker, lender, insurer or financial advisor, and we do not perform any home services.
Homeowners
- Book a meeting only when you have a real project or need.
- Meetings are 45 minutes, in your home or by video. You never have to buy anything.
- Payment is released after both you and the vendor confirm the meeting took place.
- Meeting payments may be taxable income. If you earn $600 or more from one vendor in a year, you may receive a Form 1099. We may ask for a W-9 before paying you.
- We may limit the number of meetings per month.
Vendors
- You must hold the licenses and insurance your work requires and keep them current.
- You pay the agreed fee for each completed meeting. No-shows are refunded.
- Use homeowner information only for the meeting and the project discussed, and never to spam.
- We may remove vendors after poor ratings or complaints.
- Payments to homeowners from real estate and mortgage professionals may be subject to RESPA and North Carolina Real Estate Commission rules. You are responsible for following the rules that apply to you.
Your agreements are with each other
Any contract for work is between the homeowner and the vendor. We vet vendors but do not guarantee their work, pricing or results. Check quotes, licenses and references before you hire.
Community groups
Be respectful in your neighborhood's Facebook group and Slack channel. Share only your own experiences, and don't post spam, harassment or private information about others. We may remove anyone who breaks these rules.
Not affiliated with any HOA
FreeMyNeighborhood.com is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any homeowners association.
Limits on our responsibility
The site is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for the work, products or conduct of vendors or other members.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms or the service. If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top and notify members. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.
